Global nylon staple fibre trade booming since 2017

Global nylon staple fibre trade is anticipated to reach $197.56 million in 2021 with a CAGR of 17.78 per cent from 2018. In terms of volume, the global nylon staple fibre trade was 15.12 thousand tonnes in 2017, which increased to 17.17 thousand tonnes in 2018 with a growth rate of 13.57 per cent, according to Fibre2Fashion's market analysis tool TexPro. It is anticipated to touch 20.69 thousand tonnes in 2021 with a CAGR of 6.40 per cent from 2018.

In terms of value, the global nylon staple fibre import was $41.28 million in 2017 and reached $59.87 million in 2018 with a growth rate of 45.03 per cent. It is forecast to grow to $87.55 million in 2021 with a CAGR of 13.51 per cent from 2018. In terms of volume, the global nylon staple fibre import was 7.65 thousand tonnes in 2017, which grew to 8.93 thousand tonnes in 2018 with a growth rate of 16.64 per cent. It is expected to touch 10.87 thousand tonnes in 2021 with a CAGR of 6.80 per cent from 2018.

In 2018, Turkey (2.71 thousand tonnes), Egypt (1.61 thousand tonnes), Italy (0.44 thousand tonnes), France (0.42 thousand tonnes) and Poland (0.39 thousand tonnes) were the key importers of nylon staple fibre across the globe, together comprising 62.29 per cent of total imports. These were followed by India (0.35 thousand tonnes), Bulgaria (0.24 thousand tonnes) and China (0.24 thousand tonnes).

From 2013 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of import, amongst the main importing countries, was registered by Egypt (833.19 per cent), Poland (439.81 per cent), France (268.21) and Italy (55.34 per cent).

In value terms, Turkey ($11.95 million), Italy ($8.97 million), Netherlands ($8.27 million), France ($3.38 million), China ($3.01 million) and Germany ($2.70 million) were the key importers of nylon staple fibre across the globe in 2018, together comprising 63.96 per cent of total import. These were followed by India ($2.37 million), Poland ($2.01 million), Indonesia ($1.50 million) and Belgium ($1.16 million).

From 2013 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of import, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Netherlands and France.
