China's synthetic fibre imports rise in Jan-Nov'13

The imports of synthetic fibre for textile use by China increased both in terms of volume and value in the first eleven months of 2013 compared to the previous year, according to the statistics from the General Administration of Customs.

From January to November 2013, China imported a total of 350,000 tons of man-made fibre, registering a year-on-year growth of 16.9 percent. In terms of value, this growth was 15.2 percent.

During the same period, China’s synthetic fibre yarn imports stood at 356,000 tons, showing a decline of 4.6 percent year-on-year, but an increase of 0.8 percent year-on-year in terms of value.

In November 2013, China imported 30,000 tons of synthetic fibre valued at US$ 94.7 million, while its synthetic fibre yarn imports stood at 29,000 tons valued at US$ 150 million.
