China has made significant progress in chemical fibre comprehensive standardization.

The recently held annual conference on chemical fibre standardization, organized by the Chemical Fibre Industry Association, noted that the National Standardization Technical Committee has achieved significant progress.

Mr. Xiaoping, president of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, said the chemical fibre comprehensive standardization criteria has been designed to improve chemical and technical standards and enable organizations to achieve interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral cooperation.

At present, China’s chemical fibre standards are divided into multiple levels of national standards, industry standards and Association standards, and the role played by the various levels of standards vary.

Mr. Xiaoping pointed out that chemical fibre industry association standards meet the differentiation and functional status of the product. He said differentiation, functionality and the development of bio-based high-tech fiber industry needs standards to follow up a certain scale.

He believes that standardization process must be accelerated, from quantitative to qualitative change, in order to meet market demand.

He said the comprehensive chemical fibre standard would match China’s status as a huge manufacturer of synthetic fibre.

The meeting also approved standards for polyimide (PI) staple fibre, alginate staple fibre and other standards.
