Chemical fiber operational efficiency improves in 2006

In January-October 2006, chemical fiber industry realized profits of 55.31 billion yuan, growing 38.63 percent over the same period of previous year; meanwhile, the losses of those losing enterprises substantial decreased 20.33 percent. State-owned and state-holding enterprises realized a total profit of 956 million yuan, gaining 1.54 percent over the same period of previous year.
Looking at the breakdown of the sectors, the two industries of polyester and viscose performed better, which achieved profits of 2.59 billion yuan and 1.84 billion yuan, growing 38.17 percent and 36.58 percent, respectively, and accounting for 46.85 percent and 33.27 percent of the total production.
Nylon industrial profits increased slightly; Acrylic sector lost 246 million yuan as a whole, losing amount as much as 307 million yuan, becoming the exclusive sector, which suffered losses, in the four industrial sectors. The four major industries also greatly reduced their deficits in 2006.
In January-October, chemical fiber industrial operating quality improvement, realized an industrial output value of 257.6 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 19.6 percent. Annual output value is expected to exceed 300 billion yuan; product sales revenues were 236.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.5 percent.
Annual income is expected to reach 282 billion yuan, with finished products at 14.1 billion yuan, an increase of only 5.1 percent, and annual figure is expected to be around 15 billion yuan; entire industrial losses were expected to be around 22 percent.
