Viscose & vinylon fiber output sees a mixed trend

According to National Bureau of Statistics, China produced 1,23,142 tons of viscose fiber in February 2008, a reduction of almost 7,772 tons. It also represents a downfall of 5.94 percent when compared to January, and 4.28 percent from the same period last year.

However, country's total viscose production reached nearly 2,54,055 tons in first two months of this year, representing a growth of 5.51 percent, in comparison to same time of 2007.

On the other hand, vinylon fiber's production witnessed a boost of 31.58 percent, with output reaching up to 4,969 tons last month, when compared with January, and 35.21 percent from the same time of 2007.

Even, cumulative output of vinylon fiber marked a growth of 9.92 percent, coming up to 8,644 tons in January-February 2008, compared to same period last year.
