Putting fibre production to a new monthly record of 105,600 tons, China's additional new capacity came on line in September.

This growth registered a 28.3 percent year-on-year expansion. China is the world's largest producer of viscose fiber.

Since December 2004, China has been increasing its monthly viscose fibre production at a double-digit rate. From January to September, production of viscose fiber touched the mark of 824,400 tons; this showed 19 percent year-on-year growth.

India, the second largest producer of viscose, lags behind China.
