We don't dump shoes, Le Van Bang

Vietnam doesn't dump shoes said Le Van Bang, Deputy Foreign Minister, special rep of the Prime Minister during his recent official visit to the European Commission (EC) and Belgium.

International media commended Bang's visit to the EC and Belgium to persuade the European Union (EU) in the anti-dumping lawsuit against Vietnamese leather-capped shoes.

If EU imposes anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese shoes, it will hurt economic and social aspects of Vietnam as footwear is the major industry in Vietnam's economic development and hunger and poverty eradication.

Bang said that Vietnam never dumped shoes because in the first ten months of 2005, its export went down by 5.8 percent while the price upped by 1.3 percent.
