In the first four months 2006, Vietnam exported 2.89 million pairs of waterproof shoes worth US $19.25 million, representing year–on–year rise of 36.82 percent and 38.82 percent, respectively.
These products have been shipped to more than 30 countries in the world, with EU taking the top spot on the list.

Vietnamese enterprises are seeking for customers in Japan and Canada because these two markets have big demands.
Japan is exporting about from $80 to $100 million worth of shoes, annually, but Vietnamese goods are seldom on sales at this market.
For Canada, its Government has officially been limiting the waterproof shoes from China, resulting in great opportunities for Vietnamese shoes.
