Ministry of Trade statistics reveal that footwear exports turnover in May 2006 reached US $305,761,486, while that during January–May period, grossed around $1,386,768,141.
In May, the US retained its position as the biggest importer of these products with total goods worth $74.807 million, followed by England at $44.543 million, Germany worth $29.203 million, France at $24.228 million and Belgium worth $20.851 million.
