Footwear exports to Malaysia rockets

In the January–July 2006 period, Vietnam footwear exporting to Malaysia recorded a sudden growth at 130 percent compared to same period of 2005, worth $6.32 million.

For June alone, the exports turnover reached $1.27 million, up 150 percent.

Of the goods, leather and leatherette products are favorite tastes of the country, as they account for 40 to 50 percent of total exports turnover.

Currently, Malaysia imports about $200 million annually, in which Vietnam's goods account for 8 percent.
