High–end knitting capped sports shoe exports up 70%

MOT statistics reveal that Vietnam's exports turnover of high–quality knitting capped sports shoes in the first eight months of 2006, registering year–on–year increase of 70 percent to 7.52 million pairs, accounting for 52.39 percent of the total product turnover.

During the eight month–period, entire knitting–capped sports shoes exports turnover of Vietnam saw a declining of 0.35 percent from same period 2005 to $150.1 million, with an average year-on–year price hike of 30.68 percent (on average of $10 – 11 per pair).

In the meanwhile, the hiking rate of the high–quality knitting sports shoes was always remained at sky–rocketed place, especially exported to markets of Italy ($14.8 per pair), Swede, Mexico, Korea, Canada ($14.23 per pair), Venezuela and Turkey.

As regard to markets, the US is usually biggest consumer of the goods, as the country imported 3.41 million pair in the first eight months 2006, up 100.87 percent from one year earlier period, followed by Belgium (up 86.88 percent, 0.52 million pair), Italy (76.69 percent, 0.44 million pairs), Germany (178 percent, 0.32 million pairs), Mexico (146.42 percent, 0.16 million pairs) etc.

Furthermore, exports to other markets of Australia, Argentina, UAE, Israel, Norway and Paraguay made strong growth, however standing with modest turnover.
