The 100th session of Chinese Export Commodities Fair, also known as Canton Fair, was recently held in Guangzhou, the capital of South China's Guangdong Province on October 17, 2006.
It evident during the fair that Chinese leather shoemakers have been exploring new options to cover up business losses on account of anti-dumping tariffs imposed by EU on Chinese leather footwear goods with effect from October 7, 2006.
These shoemakers now search for new buyers in virgin territories rather than relying completely on the previously lucrative European markets.
