Famous departmental Federated Department Stores Inc announced a series of new division senior management appointments, effective Feb 1, 2006, as the company integrates its Macy's divisions following the acquisition of May Department Stores Company, which was completed Aug. 30, 2005.
'Enhancing their company's already strong talent pool was a key objective of the May acquisition and announcements are a clear indication that they have made great strides in that regard,' said Terry J Lundgren, the company's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.
'By retaining experienced executives from the May Company organization and combining their skills with Federated's existing division leadership, they will strengthen their Macy's divisions as they grow to serve customers in new geographic regions across the country.'

With the May Company's more than 490 department stores and more than 720 bridal and formalwear stores in 49 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, Federated operates about 950 department stores and more than 720 bridal and formalwear stores in 49 states.
