Nation's largest catalog merchant JC Penney Company Inc is responding to the needs of the modern consumer through a new private brand of home furnishings and accessories called Studio by JCPenney Home Collection.

The launch signifies JCPenney's continuing commitment to deliver affordable, attainable style through brands that create an emotional connection across its customers' lifestyles.

Debuting in over 500 JCPenney stores nationwide in February, Studio offers a design resource for relaxed, personal style specifically with the modern shopper in mind.

Studio's decor is defined through clean lines and geometric shapes to create a modern environment that is suitable for an apartment, loft, home or office.

The initial launch includes a complete line of bedding, bath, window coverings, area rugs, lamps, vases and decorative accessories.

All colors, fabrics and textures coordinate to create a unique style direction while unifying the space.

"Studio is unlike any other furniture and home furnishings assortment they've offered at JCPenney," said Ken Hicks, JCPenney President and Chief Merchandising officer.

"Studio fills a modern niche preferred by style-driven customers who are already shopping in their stores for apparel, but shopped elsewhere for updated home fashions.

The addition of Studio to their collection furthers JCPenney's position as a style leader in home decor."

Retail prices for Studio range from $80 - $250 for bedding; $30 - $50 for window panels; $100 - $160 for lamps; and $200 for area rugs.
