Leading marketer of modern classic American accessories Coach Inc announced the launch of Coach women's knitwear for fall 2006. The collection will be produced in conjunction with luxury knitwear design firm Lutz & Patmos.
The first collection of Coach knitwear will be available at Coach flagship stores in October 2006. The capsule collection, to include at least six styles, will feature both cashmere and wool knits incorporating luxurious trims such as fur and leather. Retail prices will range from $300 - $1,500.
Reed Krakoff, President and Executive Creative Director of Coach, said, "The Collection will reflect part of our design aesthetic from the 1960's and will hearken back to that era with its use of our iconic signature hardware while the look will be unmistakably modern."
"And nobody knows about constructing a modern sweater better than Lutz & Patmos. They are simply the best in the business," Reed said.
Lutz & Patmos will produce and co-design the knitwear collection in collaboration with Krakoff, who will oversee the project. The initial collaboration will run for four seasons: Fall 2006, Holiday 2006, Resort 2006 and Spring 2007.
Tina Lutz and Marcia Patmos are the design duo behind Lutz & Patmos. Upon meeting in 1995, the two young women quickly realized their common affinity for knitwear. What originally was the quest for the perfect sweater eventually became the foundation for their company, which they launched in 2000. Their work is internationally recognized and has garnered renowned respect from the fashion and design industry.
