World leader in apparel and denim manufacturing and marketing Jordache Enterprises has acquired The Earl Jean Brand from VF Corporation.

Jordache Enterprises purchased Earl along with a group of private investors. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Earl will be integrated into Jordache's existing denim business and will join a prestigious roster of premium apparel brands at the company. This latest endeavor comes on the heels of the recent success of Jordache Vintage, which launched in 2004, the recent launches of Jordache Legacy and Blue Star by Jordache. Plans are to present the brand to major retailers in the coming weeks.

Liz Berlinger, President of Jordache Enterprises said, "The acquisition of Earl will continue to cement our position as a leader in denim and apparel manufacturing."

"Earl is the first premium denim brand, and Jordache has always stood for quality in denim and cutting edge design and marketing. We think this will be a great fit for our company and we have already had interest from some major retailers," he said.

A leader in denim manufacturing, design and marketing, Jordache Enterprises manufactures and licenses for brands like Gasoline, Maurice Sasson, KIKIT and US Polo Association and operates a private label division that develops and manufactures garments for other well-known brands in addition to its signature brand.

Jordache has produced or currently produces a variety of apparel -- men's, women's, girls, boys and plus size, ranging from mass to premium -- for companies including American Eagle, Armani Exchange, Express, Gap, Old Navy, Express, Limited Too and Tommy Hilfiger.
