Teka, one of the best known brands in bed, table and bath in Brazil, is launching the 2006 World Cup collection, comprised of thematic towels related to the next world soccer championship. The company has had the FIFA license since last year and it is the only manufacturer of products in this segment in Latin America, with permission to export, and exclusivity in local distribution. Including both markets, the company hopes to sell more than 1 million pieces.
Soccer lovers will find the velvety towels, made of 100% cotton in the best stores throughout Europe, starting this month. There are four different prints: Flags – with the representation of all the flags from the participating selections; Mascot – with the image of the Goleo lion with green and yellow background; Brazil – with the Brazilian flag; and Cup – with the image of the FIFA cup.
“The Brazilian is passionate about soccer and that's why we believe this line will attract from children to adults of several social classes,” said Luiz Fernando Mantovani, Teka marketing manager.
With the FIFA license, Teka also exports Cup products to several countries. More than 600 thousand pieces have already been destined to the overseas market, especially Europe. They include bath towels, beach towels and bed sets with prints of the Cup's mascot, FIFA and the world's main soccer selections. There is a personalized product for each country with the print of the selection and local languages.
“It is a great honor for our company to offer products for an event of such magnitude like the World Cup. And the satisfaction is even greater being able to link the Teka brand with a true passion for Brazilians and Europeans,” said Almir Bieging, Teka export director.
