Bon-Ton Stores give free call home service to soldier during Care to Share Day

Bon-Ton Stores Inc is leading USA based departmental store invites customers to support operation caring connection during its 'care to share day', fund raising events held in Bon- Ton & Elder- Beerman stores on June 4th 2005.
The Bon-Ton Stores Inc will give US soldiers a free call home for every store charge card purchase made during business hours on 'care to share day' in partnership with the Bon-Ton stores Inc & MCI Inc is providing soldiers in Iraq with free phone calls home under operation caring connection.
"Operation Caring Connection, like Care to Share Day, is part of supporting our community, in this case, our American community," said Bud Bergren, Bon-Ton President and Chief Executive Officer. "We know there are soldiers from our communities serving our country in Iraq and we want to help them stay connected with their families."
Care to Share Day will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. while Operation Caring Connection runs all day. Participating community organizations raise money from the event by retaining all revenue from the sale of $5 tickets for the event. The tickets offer customers rare discounts in every department throughout the store, unique special offers and a chance to participate in a 50/50 drawing. To date, the event has raised nearly $2 million dollars for participating organizations.
Customers can pre-purchase tickets directly from the participating community groups prior to the event or at their local Bon-Ton or Elder-Beerman store on the day of the event. n-Ton or Elder-Beerman store on the day of the event.
