Gap Inc is expanding its presence in Japan. The company opened its first Gap stores in Tokyo in 1995 and now has more than 100 Gap and Banana Republic stores across the country. In 2005, the company opened its first Banana Republic stores outside of North America in leading Tokyo shopping districts.
Gap Inc is a leading international specialty retailer offering clothing, accessories and personal care products for men, women, children and babies under the Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy and Forth & Towne brand names. Fiscal 2005 sales were $16.0 billion.
Gap Inc operates about 3,000 stores in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France and Japan.
Gap Japan K.K. was established in 1995 and currently operates 95 Gap and 8 Banana Republic stores in Japan.
