Cabela's announces expanded customer service options

Cabela's Incorporated announced that beginning January 2008, most of its destination retail stores will receive customer service enhancements designed to increase customer convenience, purchasing and delivery options.

"Customer service has been a cornerstone of our success," said Dennis Highby, Cabela's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Our customers are telling us they want more convenience and more options in their shopping experience at Cabela's and that's exactly what we are going to give them."

The planned enhancements will greatly improve customer service and convenience. Some of the first enhancements will be:
• In-store pickup locations for both Internet and catalog orders which will enable customers to avoid shipping fees and inspect products for the proper look, feel, or fit before they make their purchase.
• Internet kiosks and catalog order desks will enable retail shoppers access to the world's largest selection of outdoor gear, providing greater opportunities to fulfill each customer's specific needs.
• Retail shoppers will now receive the 24/7 customer service that Internet and catalog customers have long enjoyed.

"By creating the cross-promotional opportunities offered by integrating catalog, Internet and retail sales and marketing functions, we believe we can improve customer convenience and create an expanded customer base, deeper customer loyalty and operational efficiencies," Highby said.

As a result of these enhancements, Cabela's will be required to collect sales tax on catalog and online sales in states with stores that receive these upgrades. "We are excited about these new enhancements," Highby said "We believe they represent a significant opportunity to increase store productivity and create additional growth in the direct business."
