Men's tailored suits manufacturer Hart Hart Schaffner & Marx announced Eric Jones Executive Vice President (EVP) and General Manager (GM).
Eric Jones has been named Executive Vice-President (EVP)/General Manager (GM) of Hart Schaffner & Marx, a subsidiary of Hartmarx Corporation. He replaces Robert Bruno, executive vice-president, who retired last month after 41 years with the company.
Jones, 43, will oversee the sales, merchandising, product development, marketing, public relations, and strategic development of Hartmarx's largest brand. This is the first time in its 118 year history that the lead Executive of HSM will be based in New York City.
"Eric Jones is a talented executive with a strong background in luxury apparel sales and product development," said Richard Biegel, group president HMX Tailored. "Hart Schaffner Marx is a premier American brand with a proud heritage and a tradition of fine craftsmanship. I expect Eric will build on that. There is a tremendous opportunity for the brand right now and I am extremely optimistic about their plans to take this brand to the next level."
Jones was most recently senior director and national sales manager at Ralph Lauren Purple Label, responsible for mens clothing, furnishings and sportswear. Under Jones' direction, Purple Label established benchmarks for luxury product during his seven years in the division. Previously, Jones spent ten years in Lauren's vertical retail division in management and sales. Additionally, he worked at Oxxford Clothes as eastern division sales manager.
