Burlington Coat announces drop in Q4 net income

For the year ended May 28, 2005, Net Income was $105.0 million or $2.35 per share. This compares with Net Income of $68.0 million or $1.52 per share for the year ended May 29, 2004. Net Income from Continuing Operations was $106.0 million or $2.37 per share compared with $72.3 million or $1.62 per share for the last fiscal year. Net Sales from Continuing Operations for the year ended May 28, 2005 were $3.2 billion compared with $2.8 billion for the prior year ended May 29, 2004, an 11.9 percent increase. These results reflect a 6.3 percent comparative store sales increase for the twelve-month period.

As of May 28, 2005, Burlington Coat Factory operated 362 stores in 42 states principally under the name "Burlington Coat Factory."
