Net sales for the first half were $44.3 million as compared to $43.5 million during the prior year, an increase of 1.9 percent. For the first half, total comparable store sales were flat, with a decrease of 0.4 percent in the full- line retail stores and an increase of 10.6 percent in the outlet stores. The Company's direct sales (internet and catalog) were $1.6 million for the first half, almost quadruple the year ago levels of $432,000.
Harold's Stores Inc, founded in 1948, is currently operates 41 upscale ladies' and men's specialty stores in 19 states. The Company's Houston locations are known as "Harold Powell."
