Deb Shops announces net sales up 4.3% for Q2

During the second quarter of fiscal 2006, Deb Shops opened three new stores, and remodeled three existing locations. The Company also added six plus-size departments and as of July 31, 2005, operated plus-size departments in 154 Deb Shops stores.

Based on management's current outlook, Deb Shops raised fiscal 2006 sales guidance to a range of $315 million to $320 million and increased the range of diluted earnings to $1.57 to $1.62. These amounts are based on projected mid- single digit comparable store sales increases and by full year net new store growth of between 5 and 10 stores.

Philadelphia based Deb Shops Inc, established in 1932, and was originally known as Joy Hosiery, a leading retailer of foundation garments. It is a national specialty retailer of fashionable apparel, shoes and accessories for juniors in both regular and plus sizes. The Company operates 326 specialty apparel stores in 41 states under the DEB and Tops 'N Bottoms names.
