Mall-based specialty retailer of active and casual apparel company Aeropostale Inc announced that total net sales for the four-week period ended August 27, 2005 increased 21.8 percent to $136.5 million, compared to $112.1 million for the four-week period ended August 28, 2004. The company's comparable store sales increased 1.3 percent for the month, versus a comparable store sales increase of 6.2 percent in the year ago period.
Year-to-date, total net sales have increased 22.4 percent to $581.0 million, compared to $474.6 million in the year-ago period. Year to date, comparable store sales have increased 1.0 percent, compared to an increase of 15.9 percent in the year-ago period.
