Surf & skate inspired apparel seller Pacific Sunwear of California Inc (Pac Sun) reported that total sales for the five weeks of fiscal September, ending October 1, 2005 were $113.7 million, an increase of 14.8 percent over total sales of $99.0 million during the same period last year.
Total Company same store sales increased 5.3 percent during the same period. By concept, PacSun same store sales increased 5.5 percent and d.e.m.o. same store sales increased 4.0 percent compared to the same five week period last year.
Total sales for the first eight months (35 weeks) of fiscal 2005 were $878.5 million, an increase of 13.3 percent over total sales of $775.1 million for the same period last year. Company same store sales increased 3.3 percent during the same period with PacSun same store sales up 3.6 percent and d.e.m.o. same store sales up 1.3 percent.
The Company is comfortable with the First Call consensus estimate for the third quarter of $0.51 per share, and reiterates its annual guidance of 15 to 20 percent net income growth for the fiscal year ending January 28, 2006.
