Specialty apparel stores operator Deb Shops Inc reported that comparable store sales increased 13.5 percent for the month ended September 30, 2005. Total sales increased 14.1 percent to $25.6 million from $22.4 million for the month ended September 30, 2004.
The Company reports financial results on the calendar month, therefore, differences in timing will occur when comparing Deb Shops' results to those of retailers reporting on a 4-5-4 calendar. During the month of September 2005, there were five Fridays compared to four Fridays in September 2004.
For the remainder of fiscal year 2006, Deb Shops Inc will report monthly sales according to the following calendar:
