“There are some glimmers of hope,” observed Cohen, “Maybe the consumer is showing us that fashion will lead apparel back into a more positive position. And maybe those soft numbers from fall of last year will be just the launching pad retailers and manufacturers need to take a leap forward and invest in what the consumer wants. Not what the industry wants them to want.”
