Wet Seal's Oct net sales up 20.6% & same store sales boost 46.6%

Trendy young women's apparel retailer Wet Seal Inc reported net sales for the four-week period ended October 29, 2005 of $36.0 million, compared with net sales of $29.8 million for the same period last year, an increase of 20.6 percent.
Comparable store sales increased 46.6 percent for the four-week period ended October 29, 2005, compared with a decline of 15.5 percent for the same period a year ago.
Net sales for the fiscal quarter ended October 29, 2005 were $129.3 million, compared with net sales of $110.8 million for the same quarter last year, a 16.7 percent increase.
Comparable store sales increased 46.6 percent for the fiscal quarter ended October 29, 2005, compared with a decline of 12.6 percent for the same quarter a year ago.
Net sales for the 39-week period ended October 29, 2005 were $359.4 million, compared with net sales of $316.4 million for the same period last year, a 13.6 percent increase. Comparable store sales increased 44.8 percent for the 39-week period ended October 29, 2005, compared with a decline of 13.5 percent for the same period a year ago.

During the four-week period ended October 29, 2005, the Company opened two Wet Seal and one Arden B. stores. At October 29, 2005, the Company operated 309 Wet Seal stores and 93 Arden B. stores.
