Casual apparel retailer Pacific Sunwear income up $377mn in Q3

Same-store sales increased 3.7 percent during this period.

The Company is comfortable with earnings per share estimates for the fourth quarter of 2005 in the range of $0.62 to $0.63 per diluted share.

This represents a 19 to 21 percent increase over last year's fourth quarter earnings of $0.52 per share.

During the third fiscal quarter of 2005, the Company repurchased a total of 1,028,100 shares of its common stock at an average price of $23.11.

These repurchases occurred under the $100.0 million share repurchase authorization approved by the Company's board of directors on May 12, 2005.

Year to date for fiscal 2005 the Company repurchased 1,935,600 shares of its common stock at an average price of $22.60.

At the end of the third quarter $71.8 million remains available for future repurchases.

Accessories and shoe selling firm Pacific Sunwear of California Inc is operating under two distinct retail concepts, everyday casual apparel, accessories and footwear designed to meet the needs of active teens and young adults.

As of October 29, 2005, the Company operated 798 PacSun stores, 93 PacSun Outlet stores and 193 d.e.m.o. stores for a total of 1,084 stores in 50 states and Puerto Rico.
