Leading multichannel specialty apparel retailer primarily focused on plus-size women's apparel Charming Shoppes Inc parent company of Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug and Catherine's Plus Sizes, has the perfect gift for those who would rather give than receive this holiday season - a specially- designed limited-edition throw blanket, honoring the 10th Anniversary of its coat donation program, Keeping Kids Warm (KKW).

Charming Shoppes has commissioned the cozy and reasonably priced blanket ($28, plus shipping and handling) to be sold on the company's Website through December 2005.

Blanket sale proceeds will be earmarked for the extension of the Keeping Kids Warm program in additional communities nationwide in years to come.

KKW is a program in which grade school-age children from low-income families in areas of need are outfitted with brand-new winter coats.

The children are given the opportunity to specify the type of coat they would like (color, size, etc.) and Charming Shoppes, Inc then aims to provide coats to fit each child's description.

For some children, it will be the first time they have ever owned a new coat.

Charming Shoppes aims to provide new winter coats to 15,000 children at 30 different schools nationwide this year.

"Their company remains committed to women and children and they wanted to give their customers a more personal way to become involved in this same commitment," said Dorrit Bern, chairwoman, president and CEO of Charming Shoppes.
