Madura Garments unveils Rs 100cr retail expansion plans

Madura Garments has outlined a big retail expansion plan for its brands in India as well as in overseas market. The company proposes to add accessories like watches and shoes to its current list of products.

To enlarge the number of individual brand outlets and the multi-brand outlets named Planet Fashion, the company is planning to infuse Rs 100 crore investment to nearly double its retail business, stated Hemchandra Javeri, President, Madura Garments.

Company has also joined hands with Espirit, a leading fashion brand of the world for the distribution and has started exclusive outlets for the same.

It is also increasing its retail presence abroad to capture West Asian markets; for this company is exploring new geographic destinations where it could launch its brands. Company may explore South-East countries for this expansion, said Vikram Rao, Director, Indian Rayon and Industries Ltd.

Company also proposes to launch corporate wear for women under Van Heusen brand. This brand will also carry with it accessories like watches and shoes, Rao added.
