Comp store sales drive Children's Place Nov sales

Leading children's merchandise specialty retailer Children's Place Retail Stores Inc announced that for the four-week period ended November 26, 2005, comparable store sales for The Children's Place stores increased 12 Percent on top of a 9 Percent increase for the same period last year.

Total consolidated sales for the Company increased 40 Percent to $166.0 million, compared to sales of $118.6 million reported for November 2004.

November sales included $114.4 million from The Children's Place, a 20 Percent increase compared to last year's sales of $95.4 million, and $51.6 million from Disney Store.

November sales results reflect four weeks of Disney Store business versus only one week last year. Disney Store sales in week four of November 2005 were $21.4 million, versus $23.2 million last year. During November 2005, the Company opened 14 Children's Place stores and two Disney Stores.

Total sales for the forty-three weeks ended November 26, 2005 increased 59 Percent to $1,295.1 million, from $814.1 million reported in the year ago period. Sales for the forty-three weeks were comprised of $930.4 million from The Children's Place, an 18 Percent increase over last year, and $364.7 million in sales from the Company's Disney Store business.

Comparable store sales for The Children's Place increased 8 Percent, on top of a 14 Percent increase in the same period last year. Through November 26, 2005, the Company has opened 53 Children's Place stores and closed three. In addition, the Company has opened 18 Disney Stores and closed one.
