Men's apparel expert firm JoS A Bank Clothiers Inc announced net income of $4.7 million for the fiscal third quarter ended October 29, 2005, as compared with net income of $3.2 million in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Earnings per share increased 45 percent to $0.32 in the third quarter of fiscal 2005, as compared with $0.22 in the third quarter of fiscal 2004, representing another record quarter of profitability.
For the first nine months of fiscal 2005, net income increased to $16.7 million, as compared with $11.9 million in the first nine months of fiscal 2004, and earnings per share rose 38 percent to $1.16 for the first nine months of fiscal 2005, as compared with $0.84 in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Total sales for the fiscal third quarter ended October 29, 2005 increased 27.8 percent to $105.6 million, as compared with $82.6 million in the same period in fiscal 2004.
For the third quarter of fiscal 2005, comparable store sales increased 14.1 percent, while combined catalog and Internet sales increased 22.6 percent as compared with the third quarter of fiscal 2004.
Total sales for the nine months ended October 29, 2005 increased 23.0 percent to $300.8 million, as compared with $244.6 million in the same period in fiscal 2004.
For the first nine months of fiscal 2005, comparable store sales increased 7.7 percent, while combined catalog and Internet sales rose 24.1 percent, as compared with the prior year period.
