The new $5 million Leeds & Son Jewelers on El Paseo is worth visiting not only for the range of exotic and exquisite jewellery collection it offers but also for the artistic and aesthetic look it wears.

The most modern store offers a wider selection of luxury products from Patek Philippe, Rolex and Bulgari to the edgy Italian jewelry by Pianegonda and from Mikimoto pearls to the rare collection of Ferrari.

No stone was left unturned by Terry Weiner, President and Chief Executive officer of the family-owned business, when he spent more than a year in the 6,300-square-foot building to create a "true, 21st century jewelry store."

Weiner, who paid phenomenal attention to every detail, nook and cranny of the creative store, also visited Switzerland and Singapore, where cherry and Swiss pear wood furniture for the entire store was designed.

Counters shine in crystal clear glass. Lighting is subdued. The desks in three private showrooms and Weiner's office are strewn with leather pads for jewelry demonstrations.

The jewellery shoppers' paradise will shortly boast a graceful salt water aquarium, which is sure to provide a worthwhile shopping experience.
