Jewelry scrutiny at fair to perk up visitor's confidence

A five-day affair, with an involvement of over 450 exhibitors, will showcase items reflecting the latest trends in Dubai's Jewelry industry.
The display will include precious stones, antique jewelry, branded costume jewelry, watches and clocks, packaging and display materials and manufacturing tools and machinery.
The Dubai Central Laboratory in the Municipality will be providing an inspection service at the exhibition venue by randomly checking the quality of jewelry being exhibited in order to improve the confidence of visitors and exhibitors.
The inspection service will also enable exhibitors to confirm that their quality control system is effective and accurate and can help them identify potential weaknesses.
An X-ray test for gold products has been arranged that takes only 30 seconds.
There are two tests for diamonds involving two equipments, a microscope and Diamond Sure.
Dubai Municipality will also distribute brochures for consumers, highlighting aspects to consider when purchasing gemstones, diamonds and gold.
The Municipality stall in the exhibition will also provide testing facility for the public and also issue certificates to them in addition to the free checking provided to the traders.
