Sales of khadi goods have recorded a quantum jump in the current fiscal, the reason for the optimism, while also soaring 29 per cent to Rs 1,510 crore in the previous fiscal.

According to Saxena, good demand for khadi products is being generated in countries like the UK and US, although they are not exporting directly.
“But seeing the growing demand, we will start direct exports and also set up export cells to promote overseas sales of khadi products,” he added. (AR)
