Muestra Artesanal Moche, a two-day handicraft trade expo held in Peru's northern city of Trujilo, drew participation of around 20 craftsmen from Moche village.

The expo was intended at promoting the various textile and leather products prepared by craftsmen of the village.

The craftsmen displayed best of their products, as they were provided training in designing and use of various production techniques, all through the year.

Under the Huacas del Sol y de la Luna project, the artisans of the Moche village were provided training to improve the design and finishes of the current production of Moche handicrafts, seeking to increase their acceptance in the artisan market.

The “styling,” a design concept aimed at improving the appearance of the products to make them more attractive to the target market, intends to build upon the capacities and potential of the artisans, adding a specialized commercial vision.
