`Pruthibi', a society from Bhubaneshwar is exhibiting the ethnic Ikat cotton or the traditional Patta paintings, organized Orissa Handlooms and Handicrafts Fair.
Several other items such as appliqué work, wall hangings, letter packets, garden umbrellas, stone carvings, silver filigree and jewellery were on display.
Besides fairs provide a good opportunity for the artisans (national award winners) to meet their customers directly.
Quilts and furnishings, fabrics, dress materials and tapestry materials are also on display.
A 20 per cent special discount on handloom items and 10 per cent on handicraft items has been declared.
The fair will carry on till May 10, 2006 at Sankara Hall, T.T.K. Road, Alwarpet from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
