'Tekiding' plaiting workshop has been organized in Bandar Seri Begawan at the Handicraft Centre where the participants will be taught to make traditional handicraft products like 'tekiding', an open basket as well as 'tekiding lasuk', conical basket chiefly used for gathering paddy.

There are various sorts of tekidings, with each one made for a specific use.

These baskets are made from 'Bamban Batu' plant fibres which is split, pitted and used for its pliability and strength.

However, the 'menganyam tekiding' workshop participants use rattan that can be twisted in easy and flexible plaits.

This workshop is held every year and offers services from experts and professional trainers.
