Under the aegis of Handloom Promotion Council, Manipur, the 7th Handloom Day was observed recently at Kangla hall which was graced by Commerce and Industries Minister, N Mangi.

In an appreciation towards contribution and promotion of handloom sector, 12 individuals/groups were honored with Handloom Promotion Awards 2006 for their dedication to the vocation.

Speaking on the occasion, Commerce and Industries Minister stated that the Union and State Governments have launched many schemes to promote handloom sector in the State and the country.
