Minister for Industries and Commerce, Nawang Rigzin Jora gave away state awards-2006 to 15 artisans in various crafts of wood carving, paper mashie, pottery, sozni embroidery, staple and embroidery at Sheri-e-Kashmir international complex.
Arts and crafts of Kashmir are world famous and have vast marketing potential in the national and international markets, according to Jora.
He asked the unemployed youth to adopt self-employment schemes based on industries and crafts and set up small scale industries for which Government will provide financial assistance.
