Shilp Guru Awards are given to prominent crafts persons belonging to handicrafts industry will be awarded by Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat on Saturday.
11 awards each for year 2003 and 2004 and seven for the year 2005 will be given away by the Vice-President.
The award is given to master craftspersons for their work and dedication towards the preservation of craft heritage of the country and carries a certificate, a gold coin and a shawl.
The award was started in the year 2002 which was celebrated as the 'Golden Jubilee Year of Handicrafts Resurgence in India'.
The award ceremony will also be attended by Union Textiles Minister Shankersinh Vaghela, Minister of State for Textiles E V K S Elangovan and the Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, D P Singh.
