To mark 35 long years of friendship between the two nations, a handicraft exhibition is going on at the Russian Centre of Science and Cultural, Dhaka.

The items on display include glasses, trays, beakers, dishes, dolls, and hand-painted jewellery in exotic shades and shapes.

A visit to the exhibition takes the visitor straight to Russian lands and one can not escape the carving and painting belonging to another era.

Many cut glass breakers of both tall and short sizes are available. Display labels are also studded with six small statues of historical places made of metals.

Dhagestan jewellery is on display as well with necklace, earrings and rings and following suit is enamel jewellery that includes bracelets from Rostov city. They are blue in colour and carry the typical Russian motif of roses. Silk scarves are on show as well with antique folk motifs.
