Fariborz Kalantari, Tourism Development Manager, Qeshm Free Zone Organization (QFZO), informed that a huge complex will be constructed in Iran's Qeshm Island in March 2008 for promoting local handicrafts.
Among islands in Iran and the Persian Gulf, Qeshm is the largest with a spread of 100 kms.
He added that this complex will be unique in the country, with department store floor, exhibition building and management and training offices planned as part of the Rls2 billion construction.
In order to enhance handicrafts in Qeshm, Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization has entrusted QFZO with tasks like making a databank and allotting permits to handicraft stores for the complex.
