The Taiwan Handicrafts Park in Tsaotun will open a craft festival which will bring about 50 communities with their unique handicrafts throughout Taiwan.
The festival will begin on December 2 and will continue for three days.
A straw woven centipede of 260-meter long with 72-section centipede has been created by the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute as the symbol of this year's festival which represents the rich heritage and unique traditional handicrafts of Taiwan.
At the opening, the centipede will be paraded through the streets, helping to display the unique handicrafts that are produced throughout Taiwan. The "Centipede Array" in the crafts festival also features bamboo sedan chairs. Each chair will be carried by four adults displaying a variety of craft treasures from communities throughout Taiwan.
All of the items winning National Handicraft Awards will be exhibited in this festival.
