Japan Agency for Development and Emergency (JADE), which participates in relief and reconstruction activities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, is conducting a project to help earthquake victims become self-dependant.

One batch of Kashmiri women affected by earthquake has concluded training in handicrafts and embroidery at JADE's Muzzafarabad center.

JADE sources informed that this batch has proved its embroidery skills in Kashmiri handicraft.

Training will enable the women to generate steady income for themselves, with micro-finance being provided initially. Nearly 100 quake-affected families are expected to benefit from JADE's project.

A graduation ceremony for elderly students and widows is being held today.
