Uttar Pradesh is witnessing the comeback of humble khadi.
It is election time in Uttar Pradesh and showrooms like Khadi Gram Udyog in Lucknow are piling up stocks in anticipation of a rush to buy khadi.
This election season will also be the occasion of buying different coloured khadi besides plain white khadi kurta.
Leaders of different political parties can go for coloured khadi dresses to look different from other party members.
Khadi stocks have almost tripled in various outlets across Uttar Pradesh.
UP Khadi Board is planning to put a new variety of kurtas in the market, priced between Rs70-1,000.
