A TWO-WEEK training progrmme on production of handicrafts for spouses of War Heroes residing at the Rukmalgama Army married quarters and Panagoda was completed recently at Panagoda following an initiative taken by Seva Vanitha Army Branch.
At the request of Mrs. Anoma Fonseka, President Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), Minister of weaving industry Mr. Jayathissa Ranaweera offered this training course for production of toys, handbags and other software handicraft to thirty-five wives of War Heroes serving the Army.
On the completion of the course, proficiency certificates were awarded to all those who successfully completed the course during a simple ceremony at Panagoda Sri Bodhirajaramaya.
Mrs. Jayathissa Ranawera graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Senior Seva Vanitha members, Mrs. Champika Wijesinghe, Mrs. Dayani Silva, Mrs. Shanthini de Silva, Mrs. Upamallika Sooriyaarchchi and Mrs. Nilu Ranaweera were among the participants on the occasion.
