KVIC provides wider platform to rural handicraft

Mangalore, is holding a 10 day long exhibition, organized by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) at Hotel Woodlands in Lalbaugh. The expo which began yesterday, has items displayed by cottage and village industries of Southern India for onlookers .

The purpose of this expo is to provide the rural enterprises a wider platform by bringing their work of art to city people. The range of products being appreciated by visitors include garments made from Khadi like tops and sarees, jewellery, herbal products, handicrafts and home furnishing.

There are around 90 stalls showcasing wonderful and exclusive artifacts. Some artisans have even come from states like Orissa and West Bengal to participate in the exhibition.
